In the June issue of Vanity Fair, 17-year-old Ireland Baldwin reveals how she met her boyfriend online and how she came to embrace her awkward body.
Baldwin explained that she met her 18-year-old boyfriend Slater Trout through "mutual flirting efforts on the Internet," E! Online reports, adding that Twitter is "a modern-day public diary of your thoughts. You have to be careful, but at the same time it's kind of fun not to be too careful."
The young model often documents her relationship with Trout on her Twitter account, even posting a photo of her boyfriend with the message, "My boyfriend looks like this are you mad at me yet," along with a photo from his Instagram.
Of her past insecurities, Baldwin states, "I went through a lot in middle school, and you always try so many different looks and try to be so many different people. I finally realized I'm awkward, I'm lanky, and I'm going to embrace it—make fun of myself and just laugh."
She says that although she has a famous family, her father being actor Alec Baldwin and mother Kim Basinger, she puts just as much work into her career as anyone else, stating, "Everyone has to work for what they want, and everybody has to make a name for themselves."
