JCPenney is a brand in serious trouble, especially after they unsuccessfully tried to reinvent themselves. Now that the department store is trying to go back to the brand the people knew and loved, it’s hit another speed bump - Hitler-esque kettle-sized speed bump.

Three days ago, a very observant Reddit user posted an image of a billboard in Los Angeles that shows the Michael Graves Design Bells and Whistles Stainless Steel Tea Kettle and wrote “This Kettle looks like Hitler!” He included an out of focus picture and lo and behold, the tea kettle looks like the despised Nazi dictator.

The Reddit thread is filled with some bizarre comments from other users, including “Even without the blur I first thought it was some comic-book version of Hitler” and “Yours for only nein dollars.” Another person wrote, “Quit Stalin and buy one now!” Others have noted that the kettle even has its right arm raised, just like the Nazi salute.

According to The Atlantic Wire, the billboard is located by the 405 freeway in Culver City.

JCPenney made a major mistake when it decided to redesign its stores, get rid of sales and coupons and take an Apple-style approach to clothing. It didn’t work and the company is still trying to apologize for the mistake. According to Ad Week, 24/7 Wall Street has made the bold prediction that the brand won’t live past 2013.
