Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is attracting an amazing cast so far, with Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey already signed on. Now, it is looking like Jessica Chastain may join as well.

According to Deadline, the Zero Dark Thirty Oscar nominee is in talks to play the film’s third lead. McConaughey joined the picture in March, followed by Hathaway days later.

Hathaway recently won an Oscar for Les Miserables, while Chastain was up for an Oscar for Zero Dark Thirty. While McConaughey hasn’t scored an Oscar nod yet, he’s been giving acclaimed performances lately in films like Magic Mike and the recently-released Mud.

If Chastain joins, this will be her first sci-fi project. According to EW, she was linked to Tom Cruise’s Oblivion, but dropped out to do ZDT. She is also slated to work with Mama producer Guillermo Del Toro again for Crimson Peak. She is also working on Liv Ullmann's Miss Julie.

Interstellar has been a project that has been floating around Hollywood since 2006, when Steven Spielberg was interested in directing Jonathan Nolan’s script based on physicist Kip S. Thorne’s theory on wormholes and time travel. Nolan, who worked with his brother on the Dark Knight films and The Prestige, signed on to direct and it is slated for a Nov. 7, 2014 release. It will be a Paramount and Warner Bros. co-production.
