Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the former star of The Tudors and NBC’s upcoming series Dracula, is at the center of another Star Wars: Episode VII rumor. One site claims that the actor will be taking a starring role in the film.
The Latino Review claims that the Match Point actor is going to be featured in the film, citing a source. The site notes that Meyers and director J.J. Abrams worked together on Mission: Impossible III, so there is a relationship, there.
As HitFix notes, there’s been no confirmation on this report. All we know is that fans of Meyer’s work will get to see him soon, just on the small screen. He stars in NBC’s Dracula, which will air on Fridays in the fall.
Earlier this month, Lucasfilm and Disney confirmed that production on Episode VII will take place in the U.K., where production on all the previous films was based.
Episode VII will be written by Michael Arndt and directed by Abrams. While George Lucas has said that Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will be back, there hasn’t been any official word on that or how large their roles would be.
Disney and Lucasfilm hope to release the film sometime in 2015.
