While promoting his new film Inside Llewyn Davis in Cannes, Justin Timberlake was interviewed by a perplexed reporter who didn’t seem to know that the “Mirrors” singer had just released an album.

According to USA Today, the reporter claimed Timberlake priorities were in acting, not music.

Timberlake told the French reporter, “I just put a record out, man!”

Vulture reported that Timberlake jokingly called the reporter “pretentious” before smiling and squeezing the reporter’s arm, however, the reported pressed on, questioning Timberlake’s priorities.

Timberlake mentioned that he was starting a tour in the summer and another tour in October and asked the reporter if he wanted to see his schedule. All jokes, of course.

Doing what he was there to do, Timberlake continued to promote his movie alongside Carey Mulligan by saying, “Just to bring it back to the movie, [it’s about a musician] who measures his life by success and failure and whether he’s winning or losing, and I think you get to a certain point in your career where it doesn’t become about winning or losing.”
