The new record by Justin Timberlake, “The 20/20 Experience," is the first solid album released in the pop genre in recent memory. It’s mixture of strong beats, catchy tunes and catchy lyrics bring something to the genre that has seriously been missing since Timberlake went on hiatus from music a few years back to focus on making films.

The album opens with a strong song titled “Pusher Love Girl." It’s orchestral opening and mixture of R & B and strong seductive lyrics set the tone for the entire record. What we are led to see with this song is the return to the fundamentals of true and pure Justin Timberlake music.

One of the stronger songs and the first single off the record is that of “Suit and Tie." This tune is perfect for a club anthem and the infusion of hip-hop from Jay-Z truly completes this song. Another strong tune is that of “Strawberry Bubblegum," albeit on the lyrical side. With lyrics like “She’s just like nothing that I’ve never seen before. Babe please don’t change nothing because your flavor’s so original. It all started when she said hey," it brings us back to that of one of his bigger songs, “My Love."

All in all, with all of the different vibes going from club music, to ballads, to even futuristic sounds with tracks like, “Spaceship Coupe," we have in our hands one of the biggest breaths of fresh air to pop music in recent memory. And, with the upcoming release of yet another album from Timberlake later this year, all we can ask ourselves is what will he come up with next?
