It was a long road to success for pop star Katy Perry, who struggled for years before making it big. However, she always knew one day she would become successful.
The “Part Of Me” singer told Britain’s OK! Magazine that once she started working with producer Glen Ballard, she thought she was set.
“At the beginning I was working with Glen and everything was cool. I had a black jetta, my first car, and I thought I was the s**t,” she said, Yahoo reports.
She explained, “I remember my cousin said: 'You should be grateful for this because it could all go flying out the window at any moment. And I was like, 'Not for me. I'm the chosen one.' Then the rug got pulled from underneath me.”
Her album never ended up getting distributed and she lost out on two opportunities at new record deals. These experiences shape who she is today.
“I needed that to appreciate what I have now,” she said. “I just keep that in mind when things go bad. There's always a way for things to get better.”
