KISS co-founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley served more than 100 men and women veterans and wounded warriors at a luncheon May 9 during their latest opening of their restaurant Rock & Brews in Torrance, Calif.
At a gala that same day they handed the president of Torrance Education Foundation, Tim Brewer, a $25,000 check and played a three-song set that included their hits “Hotter Than Hell,” “Rock and Roll All Night,” and “Lick it up.”
The rock stars debuted the first Rock & Brews in April 2012 in El Segundo, Calif., according to Brandchannel. They have just opened their third location and second Las Angeles location in the last year.
According to Billboard the duo plans to open more than 100 in five years. The expansion is exciting for Stanley.
“We are spreading our tentacles! It’s a family friendly place where you don’t have to compromise your palate. Most of the time you bring your kids to a restaurant, you are eating cardboard pizza or dried out macaroni and cheese,” Stanly said. “This is really our place where you can hang out, choose from one of our 80 craft beers, hear quality rock music and have a great night with your friends.”
More locations to come include : Maui, Hawaii, Agoura, Calif., Kansas City, Mo., and in LAX, Calif.
Simmons has licensed the KISS name and logo to 3,000 items reported CNN and has sold over a half billion dollars in merchandise in the last 15 years. KISS has become “the most recognizable band,” CNN said.
Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and a few replacements are set to start their European tour June 1 in Stockholm.
