The lead singer of metal band As I Lay Dying, Tim Lambesis, posted $2 million bail and has been released from jail.

Lambesis is accused of hiring someone to kill his estranged wife. Police say that the singer hired a private detective that he believed to be a hit man to carry out the plot on his wife.

Lambesis’ wife, Meggan Lambesis, who filed for divorce from the rocker in September, was quoted by CBS News as saying her husband had become “obsessed with bodybuilding” and frequently appeared distracted. She said that Lambesis, once a reliable, became difficult to trust around their children, falling asleep while watching them on multiple occasions.

According to the band’s website , As I Lay Dying will refrain from touring “given the circumstances.” The short post, which is signed by the other four members of the band, thanks their fans for their “ongoing support at this difficult time.”

Lambesis has been ordered to wear a GPS monitor and must refrain from contacting his wife or three adopted children. His attorney, Thomas Warwick, said that steroid use has greatly affected the singer’s brain and behavior.

Lambesis has pled not guilty to solicitation for murder.
