Michelle Williams is going to star in a remake of The Double Hour. The Great Gatsby’s Joel Edgerton will co-star.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this is a remake of a 2009 Italian film that features a couple who are victims of a robbery. It is billed as a psychological thriller and will the written and directed by Joshua Marston.
The Double Hour had been with Fox Searchlight at one point, but the producers are going the indie route now. The producing team includes Nicola Giuliano of Indigo Films, Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Journeyman Pictures’Paul Mezey. Silver Reel Entertainment and Lotus Entertainment are financing it and selling the project at Cannes. UTA Independent Film Group and CAA are represeingting domestic rights.
The original Double Hour was directed by Giuseppe Capotondi and starred Kseniya Rappoport and Filippo Timi.
Williams recently starred in Oz: The Great And Powerful and has two Oscar nominations on her resume. Edgerton is a star on the rise, thanks to roles in Zero Dark Thirty and Gatsby. He’s also attached to Jane Got A Gun with Natalie Portman.
Marston directed Maria Full of Grace and The Forgiveness of Blood. He also directed episodes of The Newsroom and The Good Wife.
