Missy Franklin got a special gift for her 18th birthday this year; the Olympic gold medalist met Prince Harry at a reception at the Sanctuary Golf Course in Sadalia, Colorado Friday night.
The prince is visiting Colorado as part of his U.S. tour reported by The Washington Post. The 18-year-old gold medalist wrote on her instagram “And the perfect way to end my 18th birthday!? Meeting Prince Harry! It was a honor meeting him and I had a blast as always” accompanied with a picture of the two together. Missy Franklin won four gold medals in the 2012 summer Olympics held in Prince Harry’s home country the United Kingdom.
Prince Harry started his tour in Washington D.C. where he visited Arlington National Cemetery to honor the veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan war. He also visited recuperating soldiers at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
