Former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter will release a book this September entitled Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It .

The book is both an autobiography and a self-help guide and includes tails from Carter’s time in a boy band and his struggles with alcohol and drug abuse. Carter’s younger sister, Leslie, who also struggled with substance abuse, died last year.

The 33-year-old also recently announced his engagement to Lauren Kitt and a Backstreet Boys reunion tour to celebrate their upcoming album, “In a World Like This.”

The summer tour will also include Jesse McCartney and DJ Pauly D, of Jersey Shore fame. Carter told MTV that he and his bandmates are looking forward to touring with McCartney saying, “We're excited [because] we actually worked with Jesse before. We had a great time with him and, obviously, the relationship has stood."

In addition to the upcoming release of Carter’s book and album, as well as the beginning of his tour with the Backstreet Boys, the singer has signed a contract with Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment to begin production on a reality television show.

Carter told Perez Hilton , that while the show will primarily detail preparations for his upcoming nuptials to Kitt, "it will also be about the growing up phase of my life."

The Backstreet Boys new album, which coincides with the band’s 20th anniversary, In a World Like This drops on July 30. Carter’s book Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It hits book shelves September 24.
