Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth may have ended their legal drama in Atlanta today with a fine, but the video of their arrest April 19 has made it online, so everyone can actually hear the actress ask her arresting officer “Do you know who I am?”
Municipal Court of Atlanta Administrator Christopher Patterson confirmed to CNN this afternoon that Witherspoon plead no contest and paid a $213 fine for a charge of physical obstruction of another. Toth pleaded guilty and was placed on 12 months probation. Their pleas were entered by their attorneys.
Just hours after Witherspoon admitted that the entire incident was embarrassing and “completely unacceptable” during an interview on Good Morning America on Thursday, video of the incident was posted on TMZ. The clips reveal all the “crazy things” she admitted to saying on GMA.
At one point, she tells the officer, “I'm an American citizen ... I'm allowed to stand on American ground.” She then asks, “I'm being anti-American?” to which the officer replies, “Yes.” She says “Wow!” and can later be heard saying, “I'm obstructing your justice?”
After his wife is finished, Toth tells the officer, “I'm sorry, I had nothing to do with that!”
Yes, it looks like that is hard to explain to your children.
