The Jay-Z produced album has the possibility of selling more than 100,000 copies by the end of the album’s first week out!
According to Billboard, this album has the possibility of being the 3rd album of a Baz Luhrmann directed movie to reach top 3 of the billboard 200 list: Romeo + Juliet reach No. 2 in 1996, and Moulin Rouge reached No. 3 on the charts in early 2001.
The Hollywood Reporter said that sources only indicated a 90,000 to 95,000 projection of sales within the first week. Of course the power couple, Beyonce and Jay-Z, made a booming appearance on the star studded album, but that did not take away from the work of the other popular artists. The album featured: Will.i.am, Fergie, Goyte, Sia, Jack White, Emeli Sande, Lana Del Rey, Andre 3000, and the list goes on.
Lady Antebellum’s album, Golden, is the only album that is stopping the Gatsby Soundtrack in its tracks according to CeleBuzz. They are expected to sell some of 150,000 copies by the end of this week bowing out at No.1.
The top 10 albums of the Billboard 200 are expected to be announced Wednesday morning, May 15.
