Three new suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the Boston Marathon Bombings which took the lives of three and injured 170 others.

According to ABC News, the Boston Police Department tweeted the news Wednesday afternoon that, “Three additional suspects taken into custody in Marathon bombing case,” noting that there were going to be “Details to follow.”

Thus far, the Boston PD has not revealed what led them to the unidentified suspects, but the Boston Globe has since informed that the arrests are in relation to the manhunt for 19-year-old Dzokhar Tsarnaev claiming that the alleged suspects may have helped Dzokhar “after the fact.”

“Police: No threat to public safety. Source says three arrested in Marathon bombing case allegedly helped Dzokhar Tsarnaev after the fact,” the Globe tweeted.

The Boston Marathon was the center tragedy on April 15 after two bombs allegedly planted by Tamerlan, who was killed in a police shootout, and Dzokhar.

Authorities previously informed that they were looking deeper into the investigation after nearly a dozen potential person of interests surfaced. The FBI previously informed that Tamerlan became radicalized after a 2012 trip to Russia.
