Universal Studios Orlando is about to bring The Simpsons’ town of Springfield to life. The theme park announced plans to recreate the fictional town’s landmarks with shops and restaurants inspired by Fox’s long-running series.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the area, which will appropriately be called ‘Springfield,’ will be right near the Simpsons Ride in the Universal Studios Florida park. The restaurants include Krusty Burger, Moe’s Tavern (which will sell Duff Beer of course), Lard Lad's Donuts and Luigi's Pizza. There will also be a second ride called the Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl.

This news follows the announcement that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is getting an expansion. As Fox News reported earlier this month, the park plans to add a new section based on Diagon Alley, which will open in 2014. The Wizarding World has been a huge success for the park since it opened in 2010 at Islands of Adventure. The new area will be located where the old Jaws ride was in the Universal Studios Florida park.

Universal didn’t give an exact date for the opening of the Simpsons area.
