NBC has announced the line-up of music stars that have been recruited to perform during Blake Shelton’s Oklahoma tornado benefit concert. On Monday, the network added Shelton’s fellow Voice coach Usher.
As we previously reported, the concert is set for Wednesday night and will take place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
The event has come together very quickly. Just a day after the tornado hit Oklahoma City and Moore, Shelton and his wife, Miranda Lambert performed “Over You” in tribute on The Voice. He told the media after the show that he was planning on organizing a full benefit show.
Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert was announced on Friday, with Shelton, Lambert, Reba McEntire and Vince Gill signed on first. Over the weekend, Luke Bryan, One Republic’s Ryan Tedder and Rascal Flatts joined the show. The latest additions include R&B star Usher and Darius Rucker.
Tickets for the show have already sold out. It starts at 9 p.m. and will also be aired on Style, Bravo, E!, CMT and G4.
Proceeds from the concert will go to benefit the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund.
The tornado struck Moore on May 20 and left 24 people dead.
