Vampire Weekend, brought a wave of brass and woodwind sound to the state on Saturday Night Live last night.

The New York indie rockers led with their first single off their upcoming album Modern Vampires of the City “Diane Young” and ended with another song off the album “Unbelievers” reported Rolling Stone.

Matching lead vocalist Ezra Koenig’s range was guitar riffs, fast drums, and brass and woodwinds filling the spaces in the two songs.

The four-piece band is not stranger to the SNL stage. They performed on SNL in 2008 to promote their self-titled album and then again in 2010 just before “Contra” their second album was released according to Billboard.

Vampire Weekend there to create some buzz about their upcoming album, but according to Spin Kristin Wiig also returned to host the show yesterday evening that gave her, her start and launched her career.

Modern Vampires of the City, Vampire Weekend's third album is set to release on May 14.
