Warner Bros.’ Man of Steel won’t open in China with the kind of open arms Iron Man 3 received, but the film has still earned a decent release date, just days after its U.S. release.

The Henry Cavill-starring Superman reboot will open on June 20 in China, the state-run distribution company announced on Monday, reports The Hollywood Reporter. It opens in the US on June 14.

China Film Group Digital Cinema Line Co. said that the film will get a month-long release. It will open just as Star Trek Into Darkness finishes its run in China and just before Keanu Reeves’s Chinese co-production Man of Chi Ti opens on July 5.

Man of Steel will also face competition from Jet Li’s Badges of Fury and the drama Tiny Times.

While Iron Man 3 got to open in China on the same day as it did in the US, that is more the exception than the rule. After Earth and Fast & Furious 6 won’t be released there until next month.

China has become increasingly important, since it is now the second-largest film market behind the US. Paramount may have just received a huge blow if The Wrap’s report that Brad Pitt’s World War Z has been rejected by Chinese censors is right. That film cost $200 million to make and it could be hard for the studio to make its money back if it can’t release the film in China.
