Prosecutors charged former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez with first degree murder and five gun charges in North Attleboro District Court this afternoon.

According to TheCelebrityCafe.com> North Attleboro police arrested Hernandez at 8:40 a.m. this morning.

Prosecutors accuse Hernandez of shooting 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.

The Patriots fired him approximately two hours after his arrest this morning.
"Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation," the Patriots told ABC News.

Michael Fee, Hernandez’s attorney, argued for bail because he is a low flight risk. According to the AP, the judge denied bail.

"All records of the Attleboro District Court Clerk - Magistrate's Office involving the homicide investigation in the Town of North Attleboro have been impounded by order of the Court," Attleboro District Court magistrate Mark E. Sturdy told ESPN Boston.
