Ashton Kutcher fans will finally get to see the actor’s performance as the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. jOBS, which had been originally set for an April release, has been rescheduled for August.

In January, jOBS was one of the most buzzed about projects in the industry, as it was set to open the Sundance Film Festival, but then it earned mixed reviews after it was screened.

Before the premiere, Open Road Films picked up distribution and quickly scheduled it for an April 19 release. That is an important date in Apple’s history, since that’s considered the company’s birthday. However, a month before its release, Open Road delayed it indefinitely for an undisclosed reason.

Then on Tuesday, in a statement posted at Deadline, Open Road announced that it has picked Aug. 16 to release the film. That’s the same day that Lee Daniels’ all-star The Butler hits theaters. Kick-Ass 2 and the thriller Paranoia are also being released that day.

jOBS was written by Matthew Whiteley and directed by Joshua Michael Stern. It covers Jobs’ life from 1971 to 2001. Josh Gad co-stars as Steve Wozniak.

Kutcher currently stars on CBS’ Two and a Half Men, which will be back in the fall.
