It’s been five years since Beck’s last album Modern Guilt and now he is back with new, original material.

His new song “Defriended” leaked a few days ago but an official version has hit the web. Beck is now working on two new albums both being released independently and one will be completely acoustic Rolling Stone reported. “Defriended” will not appear on either albums and fans can expect another single not expected to be on either album this summer.

“I have a bunch of songs recorded about four years ago that I’m hopefully going to try to finish. I’m not sure if it’s relevant anymore,” Beck told Rolling Stone in an interview last year.

According to Spin Beck played a few new songs “Don’t Let It Go,” “Unforgiven,” and “Morning.” For the first time he performed “Sorry” and “Heaven’s Ladder” from his Song Reader sheet music project live last month at the Rio Theater in Santa Cruz.

Beck has six U.S. tour dates announced that includes acoustic sets with Bob Dylan and Wilco at New York’s Jones beach and the Newport Folk Festival.
