Bruno Mars’ mother, Bernadette Hernandez, tragically passed away June 1 following a brain aneurysm.
Hernandez leaves behind her Grammy-winning son and his five siblings. She was 55.
News of her death broke when reports came out that she was in critical condition following a suspected heart attack suffered in Hawaii. Hernandez was a hula dancer and singer born in the Philippines. Hernandez was very supportive of her children’s musical dreams.
According to Ace Showbiz Mars said he “wouldn’t trade it for anything,” when speaking about growing up in a musical family.
Though Mars’ focus has always been his music career, The Celebrity Café reported recently that the singer will be investing in e-cigarette company, NJOY.
“I’ve been using NJOY Kings instead of cigarettes these days, and I’m sticking to it.,” Mars said. “I believe in the product and the company’s mission.”
Mars is scheduled to go on tour later this month. It is unclear how his mother’s death will affect his tour schedule.
