Oscar, Grammy, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner Cher will be making a special appearance very soon.
The superstar will be performing live on NBC’s The Voice for the June 18th season finale, according to USA Today.
Not only is this a special event for the producers of The Voice, but also for Cher, as this will be her first live TV performance in over a decade. Cher will share her talent with other pop stars on the finale, though none of them have remarkably had a No. 1 single on the Billboard pop charts for the past six decades like Cher.
According to Inside TV, the 67-year-old is scheduled to sing “Woman’s World,” the new single from her upcoming album, which will be released Sept. 24. ‘
The single is also the title track for her new album, the first from Cher in 12 years. More details on the album are to be revealed soon, reports The Los Angeles Times, but leaks about both the album and single may slowly get out. So far, it is rumored that Cher has supposedly tracked down famous pop divas Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Lady Gaga for features on the C.D.
“Woman’s World” will be Cher’s first album since “Living Proof” in 2001, which provoked one of the most successful tours by a female artist in history. The 605 show tour raked in around $394 million, adding to Cher’s fame and power in the music industry.
Producers will have to see if “Woman’s World” will have similar results, as her performance on The Voice may jumpstart some serious media attention for the album release.
