Designers behind the fashion brand Dolce and Gabbana, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, have been sentenced to jail for tax evasion.

On Wednesday, a Milan court found the duo guilty of not claiming an astounding $1.3 billion worth of income to authorities. Both Dolce and Gabbana received a 1-year and 8-month jail sentence, but a judge has suspended it. Prosecutor Gaetano Ruta asked that they receive 2 and ½ years for the alleged evasion.

According to CBS News, the designers were found to have been hiding the money by selling the company to a Luxembourg-based holding company. By doing so, they could avoid paying taxes.

However, Reuters reports that the famous designers probably won’t even step foot behind bars due to the complex appeals process.

Both deny any wrongdoing, with Gabbana tweeting last year "Everyone knows that we haven't done anything.” The case was first opened back in 2008.

Some of Dolce and Gabbana’s high profile clients include Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Kate Moss and more.
