Rapper Drake has reportedly pulled out of his scheduled performance at tonight’s BET Awards, sending producers in a state of panic trying to figure out what they will do to replace him.
According to Guardian LV, Drake did not give any reasoning as to why he has pulled out of tonight’s performance, and sources aren’t sure if will show up despite his 12 nominations.
“Everything is in flux. The producers are all pulling their hair out,” a source reveals.
Suspicions lie in the fact that Drake does not want to run into rival Chris Brown, whom he’s had publically feuded with for over a year.
Radar Online reports that the BET Awards, which air at 8PM in Los Angeles, will be hosted by Chris Tucker and feature performances from rivals Mariah Carey and Nick Minaj.
The rapper has remained quiet about his reported absence over Twitter.
The former Canadian actor has spent a significant amount of time promoting his upcoming tour. Less than two weeks ago Drake announced his plans to tour on Twitter with a post asking fans, “Would you like a tour?”
The details behind his absence remain a mystery.
