This year has seen the end of two of the biggest projects in Ed Helms’ career - The Office and The Hangover trilogy. It looks like Helms is looking to keep his career going with a change of pace, joining the thriller Stretch with Chris Pine.

According to Variety, if Helms does officially sign on for the film, he would be a friend to Patrick Wilson’s character. Wilson (Watchman) is the real lead star in the film, since it focuses on his chauffeur character who gets stuck driving around a mysterious billionaire. Helms is set to play Wilson’s colleague.

Stretch is set to be directed by The Grey’s Joe Carnahan, who directed Pine in Smokin’ Aces. Pine has signed on for a smaller role.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Stretch will be produced by Jason Blum’s Blumhouse banner. Production is set to start this summer.

Helms just starred in The Hangover Part III, which will be the final film in the comedy franchise, and also starred on The Office, which closed its doors on NBC last month. He also stars in We’re The Millers and that hits theaters in August.
