Five Israeli women soldiers have been disciplined after posting pictures of themselves in their underwear and combat gear on Facebook, the Israeli military said Sunday.

This is only the most recent case of Israeli soldiers being disciplined by the military for inappropriate posts on social media, according to the Huffington Post.

The young women were new recruits stationed in southern Israel. In the above photo, the five women pictured wear nothing but their combat gear.

In another photo, four women had dropped their army pants to reveal their thongs underneath, reports Telegraph.

The enthusiasm the pictures received on Facebook, including multiple likes and comments, was not shared by Israeli military officials. The women were given “stern educational lectures,” though no other information about their punishment was disclosed.

“The commanding officers disciplined the soldiers as they saw fitting,” the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

The women had reportedly already been punished last week for posting similarly racy photos, according to the New York Post, when they posted three new revealing photos.

“The picture in question represents behaviour unbecoming IDF soldiers,” the statement said.

However, it is not exactly clear from the photos if it is, in fact, the same group of women. In only one of the photos are their faces visible, and in the other blurred photographs the women appear to be of different heights.

A majority of Jewish Israeli men and women are required to serve in the military beginning at 18.
