The shooting began at 11:40 this morning in Greenville, North Carolina, where an unidentified man dressed all in black and armed with a pistol-grip shotgun and a bag of ammunition went on a rampage.
After shooting a man sitting in a Geico car outside Kellum Law Firm in south Greenville, the armed man crossed a busy five-lane street to a Wal-Mart. There he shot three more people in the parking lot and continued down the street. Wal-Mart shared its surveillance footage with police, who were able to catch up to the man behind a Toys-R-Us, writes USAToday.com.
Greg Siegel was working in his office when the police arrived ABCNews.com reports. From his window he could see the gunman trying to flee, shooting at police as he ran. "When the officers returned fire, I saw him get hit at least three times," Siegel said. "At least two hit him in the left leg. I couldn't tell where else he was hit, maybe it was in the left shoulder, but it spun him around and knocked him down."
There is no clear motive for the shooting at this time, but the shooter and his victims are all in hospitals and expected to survive.
