The eighth Foo Fighters’ album is in the works but that is all we know.

Drummer Taylor Hawkins told Billboard a few details about what lies ahead.

“We’re getting our ideas together. Dave (Grohl) has his bran working overtime, like usual, and he’s got a lot of great ideas, both musically and conceptually – none that I can speak of at this moment, but it’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be cool,” Hawkins said.

Dave Grohl said the next Foo Fighters album will “not be a conventional record,” NME reported. He also said the album does not have a time frame and are in the early stages of the process.

Hawkins wants the Foo’s next album to be their best yet.

“Although some people may feel we have, I still think we haven’t written our ‘Hotel California’ or our ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ or whatever. You should always be a little scared. . . Every time you start a record, you have to be, like, ready to fuckin’ kill yourself or it’s not gonna be any good,” Hawkins said.

Hawkins also plays with his hard rock cover band Chevy Metal, which Dave Grohl has been working on his documentary Sound City and its soundtrack. The soundtrack includes collaborations with Steve Nicks, Trent Reznor, and Paul McCartney.
