Forever the Sickest Kids (FTSK), a pop punk quartet, has released their third album, “J.A.C.K.” on June 25.
This was their first album off of Fearless Records. It is what FTSK fans would expect. It is upbeat, fun and unique.
The catchy songs keep listeners playing the songs on repeat. Overall, the album is good. Sadly, FTSK had the potential to be great and slightly missed the bar.
Fans of Fearless Records would have expected something more from the band. In November 2012, the band made a track for Fearless’ Punk Goes Pop collection. They covered Rihanna’s “We Found Love.”
In “We Found Love,” the band added unclean vocals into the mix, something unusual for FTSK. It was hopeful that the label switch created an improved sound for the band. “J.A.C.K.” proves that this is not the case.
Still, this album is a great summer record. The happy, foot tapping, live your life songs get listeners ready to rock out with the band this summer on the Tilly’s Stage at the Vans Warped Tour.
The album was received well on the iTunes charts. The album ranked at number 28 just two days after the official release.
For those who have not heard of FTSK before, check out the track “La La Lainey.” They rock like pop punk band and new label mate The Maine.
