Abbi Glines latest young adult romance novel Forever Too Far brings the final installment of the series of Rush Finlay and Blaire Wynn’s love story.
Glines was born in Birmingham, Alabama. Her background does play a factor in the books she has written since it has a southern twang to most of the main characters. The highly anticipated Forever Too Far is the third book in of the series Fallen Too Far and Never Too Far. It has already made a huge impact on Amazon and Barnes and Noble by becoming a best seller.
Rush is torn between his family and his love for Blaire. Since his mother and sister do not approve of his relationship he distances himself from his immediate family. In the end Rush will be left without one.
Rush and Blaire have had a rocky relationship filled with betrayal, lies, and miscommunication. Blaire the hopeless romantic believes she will have her happily ever after with Rush and her unborn son. With all the family drama and people getting in the way of their relationship will Rush and Blaire get their fairytale ending?
It entices the reader to find out once and for all if Rush will put Blaire first in his life and care for his unborn child. The book is written in dual prospective in Blaire and Rush’s point of view. The book starts off strong and exciting story line as Rush is forced to help his obnoxious, conniving, hateful sister Nan.
Rush still has the bad boy rock star sex appeal in the beginning and transform to a gentle yet rough father figure. Rush has made a transformation since the first book as he becomes more mature and realizes the importance of family.
In this book you are introduced to the rock star life as Rush’s father comes back into the picture. This gives insight to how Rush’s life was before he settled down with Blaire.
There is an introduction of several new characters and if you haven’t read her other book Twisted Perfection then it would have been a major spoiler. It also gives characters Grant and Harlow’s point of view, which geared away from Rush and Blaire’s story. I think that Glines did this to spark the readers attention of her other works but should have just finished her thoughts about Rush and Blaire.
Blaire still has the docile personality and allows Rush control her. Rush takes the possessive and jealous trait to the max as he takes everything in his control as in who she can talk to, hug or simply leaving the house. It’s a very unhealthy relationship since Blaire is always worrying and dwelling with the thought “What is Rush going to do when he finds out?” They have their intimate beach wedding and welcome their baby boy, Nathan Rush Finlay into the world.
The things that made me cringe while reading was the cheesy dialogue and uncomfortable “dirty talk.” It seemed like all the guys in the book had the same vulgar and explicit thoughts and expressions. There seems to be an underlying theme of the female characters being virginal, from the south, and weak.
It is the end for Rush and Blaire but with Glines you never know. These two characters can make a cameo in the spin off books that Glines is working on. If you looking for a summer read and are a fan of romance novels Forever Too Far is a book for you.
