The British media is reporting that former X Factor U.K. judge Tulisa is being held and questioned about a drug deal that was recorded by The Sun tabloid.
Over the weekend, The Sun had claimed that it caught Tulisa, 24, working as a middleman for a friend to set up an £800 cocaine deal. The paper recorded the deal and noted that she had bragged about her life as a dealer to its reporter.
“Half my phone book sells it. Of course I can get it for you,” she told the paper’s undercover reporter. “Half the guys I know are drug dealers. One’s a massive cocaine dealer. He’s my best friend. He’s a gangster — he’s my gangster.”
The Sun posted screenshots of the drug deal and even a text Tulisa sent.
According to The BBC, it was reported on Tuesday that Tulisa, whose last name is Contostavlos, was arrested on suspicion of selling drugs. When the BBC asked for a statement from the Metropolitan Police, the response was only, “Officers from Westminster have arrested two people - a 35-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman - on suspicion of supplying class-A drugs. They are in custody at a Central London police station.”
Tulisa is typically an active Twitter user, but she has not posted anything since May 31. She announced that she will no longer be a judge on The X Factor UK. It was confirmed that Sharon Osbourne will replace her for the next season of the show, which airs on ITV in the UK.
Tulisa has been in the middle of scandals before, notes Fox News. In March 2012, she admitted to making a sex tape and said that her ex-boyfriend DJ Justin Edwards published it online without her knowledge.
Tulisa has not released a statement in response to the Sun’s reports.
