With the legalization of marijuana in Washington, it was only a matter of time before someone swooped in to take grips of the green machine and use it for major profit. Jamen Shively, former Microsoft manager, plans to invest in starting the first national branding of marijuana.
According to The Stranger, the businessman wants to shell out $100 million dollars in the next three years to build marijuana stores.
Besides opening a dozen stores in Washington State that will sell medical and recreational marijuana, Shively wants to open in Colorado and California.
However, Shively has run into some obstacles, according to Gawker, involving the Justice Department looking down on his conspiracy to distribute illegal drugs.
Shively said in a press conference, “In terms of criminal risk, that is vastly mitigated. ... We're making strategic investments, but we're making them in such a way that they are not in violation of either federal or state law."
Even former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, offered his support to Shively, reported Huffington Post.
The former president urged voters to legalize marijuana in order to decrease the drug crimes in Mexico.
So, what do you think? Would you be in support of a pot store?
