Gavin Rossdale, known as a musician in his band Bush, appears in Sofia Coppola’s highly buzzed about The Bling Ring. He plays a club promoter who aids the group of troubled teens in selling off the goods they stole from celebrities’ homes.
Rossdale walked the red carpet for the premiere on Tuesday with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and reflected on the real lives of these teens and what might’ve been going through their minds when they stole designer clothes, handbags, accessories and shoes from Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and more.
“When Orlando’s home got robbed, I didn’t like that I knew someone who was getting burglarized,” Rossdale said of the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, The LA Times reports.
He added about Hilton, “I felt bad for Paris. ... It’s a real heinous thing to have people in your house stealing stuff. It’s pretty disgusting.” Hilton even tweeted about his statement, writing, “Thanks @GavinRossdale. I agree, what the #BlingRing did to me was very disgusting. Such #DirtyRottenThieves >:(.”
But he took it a bit further and wondered, “I wondered how much they felt that Paris wouldn’t mind because her life is so great and her stuff is so free and life came so easy to her. That sense of entitlement growing up in L.A., projecting whether or not she would mind. Maybe there was something to that.”
