Josh Duggar, the eldest child of 19 Kids and Counting stars Jim Bob and Michelle, is getting into Washington politics. The 25-year-old has accepted the executive director position at the conservative lobbying group Family Research Council Action.

“I will be engaging the grassroots and taking the message of faith, family and freedom all across America,” said in a statement, reports The New York Daily News.

“Josh and his wife Anna have been an inspiration to millions of Americans who regularly tune in to see the Duggar family's show, and all of us at FRC and FRC Action have long appreciated their commitment to the pro-family movement,” President Tony Perkins said on the group’s website. “We welcome him to the FRC Action team and look forward to taking our grassroots outreach to the next level.”

Josh and his wife Anna welcomed their third child two weeks ago. He is already moving the family from Arkansas to Washington.

“It will be a culture shock coming from northwest Arkansas, but he’s a sharp kid,” Perkins told the Washington Post. “He’s going to fit in well, I think.”

Perkins has stayed in contact with the Duggar family since 2002, when he and Jim Bob both ran unsuccessful campaigns for senate seats in Louisiana and Arkansas. He caught up with Duggar at the March for Life in January and offered him the job. He hopes that by bringing Duggar in, the group, which is anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage, will appear to a younger crowd.

“Josh's new boss, Tony Perkins, has actually accused LGBT equality advocates of being pawns of the devil. Fans of his family's reality show ought to know that,” GLAAD said in a statement to the Daily News.
