Justin Bieber continued his wild antics Friday, June 21, keeping his private plane waiting for eight hours while he went in search of his pet monkey.

Bieber notified the pilot at 11 a.m., the scheduled departure time, to inform him that he would not depart until the pet monkey was retrieved. Bieber had been spending time in West Palm Beach, Florida, and was supposed to return to Los Angeles, New York Daily News reports.

The 19-year-old singer chartered a helicopter to avoid traffic while looking for his furry friend, keeping the pilot waiting for a total of eight hours.

The plane took off around 7 p.m. with the superstar on board, but is in unclear whether the monkey was with him. It is also unclear whether the monkey in question is Mally, Bieber’s pet monkey that was detained in Germany and eventually placed in a new home.

The “Beauty and the Beat” singer has has frequented the tabloids with his drug use and reckless driving, causing many to wonder if he needs to seek professional help.

Friend and fellow singer Carly Rae Jepson recently came to Bieber’s defense in an interview with Billboard .

The “Call Me Maybe” singer said she feels Bieber is “just doing the best he can” while under intense media pressure.

"People are constantly, like, 'Is Justin OK?'” Jepsen said. “I've not really noticed any of that. I feel like Justin's a guy who's working hard every day, and I think the media can sometimes be a little brutal with stuff and over-exaggerate things.”
