Kanye West’s newest album Yeezus has received mixed reviews, but even among his harshest critics the rapper hasn’t been called one name until now. Following the release of his song, “On Sight,” Yeezy is now being dubbed “ignorant.”
According to Cambio, in the song West sings, “A monster about to come alive again / Soon as I pull up and park the Benz / We get this b*tch shaking like Parkinson's."
West’s reference to the degenerative disorder of the central nervous system is being deemed “ignorant” by Kathryn Whitford. , vice president of the American Parkinson Disease Association.
Whitford calls the lyric a “distasteful product of ignorance by someone that obviously doesn't know about the disease.” She also notes that not everyone with Parkinson’s is overcome by shaking.
“It’s so stereotypical. People with Parkinson’s aren’t just walking around and shaking,” Whitford tells Hip Hop Hollywood.“It shows that people don’t understand the disease, and it’s really a sign of ignorance.”
Yeezus hit the shelves yesterday after being leaked online earlier last week.
