Kanye West celebrated his 36th birthday in New York yesterday (June 8) in a star-studden event that did not include baby mama Kim Kardashian.
West was in New York City to headline the Governor’s Ball on June 9, and though girlfriend Kardashian could join him in the Big Apple for the celebration, Jay Z, Beyonce, Jonathan Cheban, and Scott Disick were all in attendance.
According to Hollywood Life , West and company dined in Miss Lily’s, a Caribbean restaurant in Manhattan, run by owners of the city’s hottest nightclubs.
Though Kardashian is unable to fly as he due date approaches, she published a romantic photo collage to her Instagram account, wishing her “soul” a happy birthday.
While the message may seem simple compared to the $750,000 Lamborghini the reality star gave the to “Mercy” singer for his birthday last year, a source close to the singer says West is looking for simplicity.
“He doesn’t want Kim to think about trying to do something big for him on his birthday when she’s pregnant,” the source said. “All he really wants for his birthday is peace of mind for him and Kim.”
West may have asked for “peace of mind” for he and his ladylove, but that doesn’t mean he intends on slowing down any time soon. The rapper unveiled new projections of his single “New Slaves” in Washington D.C. last night, according to Celebuzz .
West’s new ablum “Yeezus” is out June 18.
