Kanye Wests Yeezus hit number one on Billboard 200 chart this week.
The album sold 327,000, which is the third-largest sales week this year according to Billboard. Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience rests at number one with 968,000 and Daft Punk’s Access Memories is number two with 339,000.
It is the biggest week in rap since Drake’s Take Care in 2011 which hit 631,000 USA Today reports. This number one ties him with Eminem and Nas for second-most number ones among rap artists.
Even though West has hit number one this week without a single for radio and no video, it is his lowest sales debut yet. His other albums have sold more than 400,000 making his lowest, until now, The College Dropout with 441,000.
The College Dropout did miss the number one slot. It debut at number two in 2011. He has six number ones including his collaborative album Watch the Throne with Jay-Z.
Yeezus was expected to sell 500,000 in its first week but those predictions were decreased the day after it went on sale (June 18) to 360,000 to 380,000. By June 21 Yeezus was expected to sell 330,000 to 340,000.
