Kanye West has a big day next week, the release of his album. Can it be released if its not finished though?

With the album scheduled to drop on June 18, West is still not done recording the new disc, titled “Yeezus,” according to The Guardian. After months of recording, he is still reworking new songs, adding tracks, changing producers, bringing in Def Jam’s founder Rick Rubin to help lay down tracks and figure out the kinks going on. His label though was left with the task of clearing last minute samples of a Chicago children’s choir for the new song “Onsite,” but with the pressure for time ended up just recording the vocals themselves.

According to the New York Post, West is really pushing his executives buttons. A music industry source said, “Even by Kanye West standards, this is pushing it.”

Apparently after receiving mixed reviews of his Governor’s Ball performance, West may be pressured to tighten up some loose ends. He revealed a little bit of the album’s struggle at that performance during his song “Clique,” saying "You know with this album, we ain’t drop no single for radio, we ain’t got no big NBA campaign or nothing like that. Shit we ain’t got no cover... we just made some real music," according to The Atlantic Wire.

Yeezus will be the 36-year-old’s sixth album and waiting to the last minute may or may not benefit West. With only a week away from the drop date, there’s littke known about any videos, singles, or any leaks. This could lead to a lack of hype, or it could be a strategic move to really surprise fans with a completely fresh and new album. Critics will find out June 18th, when the album is due out.
