Kings of Leon have announced that they will be releasing their new album in mid-September of this year.
Kings of Leon announced the date of release for Mechanical Bull on Friday night (June 7th). The band was scheduled to play at the Governors Ball in New York but due to the weather the show had ended early according to Z100. Kings of Leon performed the next night at the festival, playing the lead single from the album titled “Super Soaker.”
Since the release of their 2010 album titled Come Around Sundown, the band members have taken time away from their music career to focus on themselves. All four members got married and three of the four, Caleb Followill (lead vocals), Nathan Followill (drums) and Matthew Followill (lead guitar) are expecting their first children according to USA Today.
The band is very excited for what they call their “youthful album.” They even got Jimmy Fallon to promote Mechanical Bull in a video that’s posted below.
