We recently tested the Lexus ES 350 and were impressed with the mid-size luxury sedan. Lexus then let us try out the LS 460, and, boy-oh-boy what a car!

The LS is Lexus's flagship sedan, so you know they are going to go all out to make it a truly luxurious driving experience. The 2013 model features a substantial makeover from the previous year. The new LS 460 is a beautiful update in the car's style and comfort.

The exterior is imposing. You look at the LS 460 and you know you're looking at a car with a high sticker price. Lexus gave the sedan an aggressive appearance by changing out the classic, corporate grille for one that looks like it will eat up the highway and everything in its path. The rear end also got an aggressive, sportier look that says this is not your grandpa's luxury car.

Under the hood is a mighty 4.6-liter V-8 that churns out 386 horsepower. The eight-speed automatic transmission works like a dream and delivers the right amount of power when it's needed most.

The LS features a dual suspension system that automatically adjusts for an incredibly smooth ride. The same system that monitors the suspension also handles the steering, engine and throttle according to driver settings: eco, normal and sport.

We loved the sport mode that gives this beautiful, luxurious car a rebellious feel. The power-assisted steering cuts back for a feeling of greater control. For a car of this size and magnitude it handled extremely well on curved country roads.

Where the LS really stands out is in Lexus's attention to detail. The exclusive Shimamoku interior wood finish is as elegant as it is precious, and all the materials are of the highest quality. The craftsmanship is really outstanding and gives this car a precise, polished look.

It's obvious to see why the Lexus LS 460 is a $75,000. And it's worth every penny.
