M.I.A’s video for “Bad Girls” combined the West with the East. Now, she has done it again with her new video “Bring The Noize.”

In the video she uses symbols of Hindu that some may consider less familiar to Western audiences according to Hit Fix. She introduces herself as goddess-among—men to be an icon of worship, with pink hair.

According to NME her new album Matangi is set for release this fall on N.E.E.T/Virgin EMI. The album was originally set to release in late 2012 but said her US label was not convinced by her work and wanted it to be darker.

The song was written a year ago and she explained the track was “having to deal with the concept of freedom in more ways that one.”

Regarding the delay put on her album she tweeted, “no one in the industry collected blows in the last 3 years as much as me. [The new album] if a f-ck you to them and a thank you to you.”
