Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane requires surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain.
The band announced the news on their website.
“Our friends and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery,” the statement said.
Three shows have been canceled in Dallas, Woodlands and New Orleans. The band assured that all dates will be rescheduled, tickets will be honored and there are no plans to cancel any other shows on their current tour.
The Grammy Award-winning band is touring in supported of last year’s Babel Rolling Stone reports. They have also teamed up with Elvis Costello to cover Bruce Springsteen’s song “The Ghost of Tom Joad” for One Campaign’s agit8 anti-poverty initiative.
