Mumford & Sons’ bassist Ted Dwane has to undergo emergency surgery for a blood clot close to his brain, which has led the band to cancel three upcoming performances.
The band announced on Tuesday morning they would have to postpone headlining concerts in Dallas, The Woodlands and New Orleans due to Dwane’s medical emergency.
They wrote on their website, “Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery.”
They added that the cancelled gigs “will be rescheduled and will be announced as soon as we can; all tickets for this week’s events will be honoured at their rescheduled dates. We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour.”
Huffington Post reports that all their tour dates have been sold out as they promote their Grammy award-winning album Babel.
