On Wednesday June 12th, the has-been social media website MySpace released its new look by throwing a relaunch bash at the El Ray Theatre in Los Angeles.
The new MySpace is targeting all kinds of artists; writers, musicians, etc. according to Gigwise. The creators of MySpace are hoping that the new version of the site will help artists world-wide connect and give them the opportunity to spread their creative art and create a fanbase. According to Pedestrian, the site will have an extensive “streamable music library” for artists as well as its own “MyRadio” station.
More than a dozen celebrities showed up to the relaunch party including Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell and Robin Thicke, the last three performing at the party for a small audience.
The new site also comes with a new ad that features celebrities kicking back and having a grand old alcohol-free time. The ad will be featured on networks that target young adults and teenagers such as MTV, Comedy Central, and Fuse.
