Another day, another Star Wars: Episode VII rumor. The latest claims to reveal casting notes and plot details, making it appear that director J.J. Abrams and writer Michael Arndt are taking some tips from the Expanded Universe.

A blog called SchmoesKnow credits an anonymous source with providing it with casting notes listing the children of Han Solo and Princess Leia, twins Jacen and Jaina. The two characters have been an important part of the franchise’s Expanded Universe for two decades since they were born in the Thrawn Trilogy. The plot of Episode VII sounds as if it would trace Jacen’s eventual turn to the Dark Side after Luke Skywalker trained them.

“Jacen’s twin sister, one of the greatest Jedi’s in the galaxy, trained by her uncle Luke Skywalker,” reads the casting note for Jaina.

The note for Jacen is a little odd, calling him “one of the greatest Jedi’s in the world.” That really doesn’t make sense, since there’s no Earth in the Star Wars universe. Does it mean Coruscant, the capital of the Star Wars galaxy?

The casting note also says that he “Will eventually become Darth Caedus,” which is strange, since a casting notice probably wouldn't list such a major plot point, notes Collider.

Finally, the plot is similar to the Legacy of the Force novel. That’s really contrary to reports that the movie won’t be based on an Expanded Universe story. Abrams avoided answering a question about that at the Produced By Conference over the weekend. “I think the key to moving forward on something like this is honoring but not revering what came before,” he said.

This is all still rumors. Abrams has said that filming will start in early 2014, which would have to be the case if Disney wants to get the film out in 2015. It should also be noted that Celebration Europe is next month and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy could have a big announcement up her sleeve.
