Nadya Suleman, better known as “Octomom,” is under investigation for Welfare fraud after the highly publicized mother of 14 was accused of accepting governmental assistance when she could clearly afford living off of her own income.
According to TMZ , the proper steps are being taken to seize Suleman’s bank records and documents in order to investigate the claims that she is stealing taxpayers money.
A tip came in to the Department of Welfare Fraud Prevention, claiming that Suleman accepted assistance in 2012 when she made nearly $200,000. In order for Octomom to be available for assistance, she would have to make less than $119,000 TMZ notes if Suleman is found guilty, she could end up in prison for three years.
Last year Suleman set up a page asking fans of hers to help pay her rent. Suleman filed for bankruptcy in May 2012.
Octomom has gone as far as stripping and making an adult film in the hopes of earning enough money to pay for herself and her many, many children.
