After searching his million-dollar mansion and questioning him for hours yesterday, police plan to return to New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez’s home today. A new warrant based on new evidence could be incriminating in the case of the homicide of an associate of Hernandez.
The evidence includes proof that “he destroyed his home security system,” an investigator told ABCNews.com. Other factors that led to rising suspicion include Hernandez’s cell phone being handed over “in pieces” by his attorneys, and a housecleaning service team hired on Monday to cover the entire mansion.
Multiple sources have confirmed that Hernandez has not been ruled out as a suspect in case: the shooting of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd in an industrial park between 1 AM and 6 AM on Monday. The park is only a mile from Hernandez’s mansion; Lloyd dated Shanea Jenkins, the sister of Hernandez’s live-in girlfriend, Shayanna Jenkins, FoxNews.com reports.
Police have been unable to locate Shanea Jenkins, and are concerned for her safety. Meanwhile, according to USAToday.com, Hernandez is also being investigated for a violent incident in a Rhode Island bar, and being sued for shooting a man in Florida.
